For a PE owned A&D specialty machining company, Quantum developed standard work hours, by process area for their key products.  Quantum worked closely with Operations, Engineering and Cost Accounting to analyze historical standards and actual work hours by product, and develop statistical models to calibrate with observed times on the floor.  Quantum also implemented disciplined time tracking on the floor at each work center, and KPIs to manage adherence. Based on this Quantum developed standard work hours for each product, as input to production planning.  Quantum also developed a process for ongoing periodic review and update of the standards.
